Live Opera Returns To Luci Restaurant At Hilton Melbourne Little Queen Street

Star Performers From Melbourne Opera Will Perform Live In Luci’s Restaurant’s Historic Dining Room With A Matched Menu And Wines By New Head Chef Jason Lear

Melbourne, Australia – Monday, 19 September 2022: Hilton Melbourne Little Queen Street (Hilton Melbourne LQS) has teamed up with the renowned Melbourne Opera to host a second series of its popular live opera dinners in the stunning Luci restaurant dining room this Spring. 

Taking place on the evenings of Tuesday, 4 October and Wednesday, 5 October 2022, the ticketed events will include four live performances curated by Melbourne Opera, with a considered four-course menu by newly appointed Luci head chef Jason Lear, as well as matched wines. ​ ​ 

The live performances curated by Melbourne Opera will include award-winning tenor, baritone and mezzo-soprano performers from the Richard Divall Emerging Artists Program, and will be carried out amongst the evening and concluded by an encore duet. Each performance and the story and inspiration behind the song will be introduced with its accompanying dish and wine match.

Performer information: 

  • Naomi Flatman, mezzo soprano. Swiss – Australian mezzo-soprano Naomi Flatman is the winner of the 97th Herald Sun Aria as well as the winner of the Australian Liederfest competition in 2021.
  • Alastair Cooper-Golec, tenor. Alastair is a 2021 Herald Sun Aria finalist, winning the John Fulford Memorial Prize. Also in 2021, he won second prize at the National Liederfest competition. 
  • Adam Jon, baritone. Australian baritone, Adam Jon has recently completed the Young Artist Program at the Accademia Del Teatro Maggio Musicale (Florence, Italy) and is a current Richard Divall Emerging Artist with Melbourne Opera. He is also a current 2022 Herald Sun Aria Finalist, was the Acclaim Awards Italian Opera Fellowship Winner 2018 and an Acclaim Rotary Ambassadorial Scholar in 2017. 
  • Reymond Lawrence, accompanist and host. Raymond is a graduate of the Queensland Conservatorium of Music. Whilst a student he was Assistant Conductor for Queensland Conservatorium's production of Britten's 'Albert Herring' and subsequently conducted performances of his own compositions, 'Les Nuit' for chamber orchestra and soloists and his operatic scena 'Medea'. 

With both songbook and menu as bespoke creations for this event, guests can look forward to a night of mesmerising live entertainment, elevated dining and culture.
