To mark the occasion – and in tribute to the 2025 Melbourne Winter Masterpieces® exhibition, French Impressionism from the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston ​ – the hotel is unveiling a series of experiences that infuse the spirit of the exhibition into the CBD hotel for its first ever winter activation. 

Running now through to 5 October, guests and art lovers alike are invited to discover French Impressionism at HMLQS through a range of thoughtfully curated moments, including in-room touches and lobby activations designed to echo the colour, charm, and creativity of the exhibition.

Upon arrival, guests will be welcomed into the hotel’s lobby, where they will be greeted with a pop-up display showcasing works from some of the world's most celebrated French Impressionist painters. The striking display offers a moment of inspiration and transforms the space into a gallery-like setting, bringing a touch of magic to every stay.

For those seeking a little more, HMLQS presents its exclusive Impressionist Picnic Boxes ($85). Designed for two, the box includes a generous assortment of artisanal meats and cheeses, a fresh baguette, and pickled vegetables from the hotel's restaurant, Luci, and two complimentary tickets to the exhibition. To complete the experience, guests will also receive a curated map highlighting picturesque picnic spots between the hotel and the Gallery, perfect for those looking to enjoy a day of art, fresh air, and al fresco dining in the heart of Melbourne.

Elevating the experience further, guests can choose to add a Monet paint-by-numbers kit for an additional $25. Complete with brushes and paints, the kit encourages guests to slow down, get creative and create their own masterpiece.
